Pendleton Bridge

Good forOutdoor loversArts & culture lovers

The Pendleton Bridge carries LA-6 across Toledo Bend Reservoir from Sabine Parish into Texas, and it's the only place in Louisiana where you can pull over halfway across a lake bridge, walk to the railing, and be standing on a state line. The current bridge dates from 1965, built when Toledo Bend was impounded and drowned the old Pendleton ferry crossing. It's a working fishing bridge — at dawn and dusk you'll see anglers dropping lines straight down into the main channel.
