Sun Bay is Vieques's public beach — a *balneario*, meaning it operates under government regulation with bathrooms, showers, and food kiosks. It sits on the island's southern coast, facing calm water suited for casual swimmers. Of all the beaches here, it's the one with infrastructure: the facilities, the coastguard, the water quality oversight. Camping is available with a permit. The best window to visit runs late November through mid-April.
