Crater Lake Lodge

Built on the caldera rim nearly 1,000 feet above Crater Lake, the lodge first opened in 1915 — then spent decades accumulating structural debt until the National Park Service had to close it entirely and rebuild it from the inside out, completing the work in 1995. The NPS owns it; the lake views that kept visitors coming through generations of deferred maintenance are still there, and 71 rooms book out fast.
