Good forHistory buffs
On Ocean Street in Hyannis, a large stone wall faces Lewis Bay — the water where Kennedy sailed when he was here. The memorial carries a bronze medallion on each side: his left bust profile toward the bay, the Great Seal of the United States toward the street. A reflecting pool and lit fountain invoke the Eternal Flame at Arlington. The bluestone surrounding it is engraved with a line from a Kennedy address on the economy: *I believe it is important that this country sail and not lie still in the harbor.* Commissioned by the citizens of Barnstable and dedicated July 8, 1966.
