Warm Springs Memorial (FDR Bust)

Roosevelt renamed this town. That fact alone tells you what Warm Springs meant to him. He first arrived in October 1924, paralyzed from the waist down, hoping the natural springs might restore what polio had taken. He came back nearly every year until he died here in 1945. The bust downtown marks that connection — a man and a small Georgia town so intertwined that he erased its old name and gave it his own reason for existing.
