The telescope collapsed in 2020. What it left behind is a site now designated a historic district, stewarded by the U.S. National Science Foundation — and a visitor center working to keep science education alive where the science happened. The observatory contributed to discoveries that changed how astronomers understand the universe. That history doesn't disappear with the structure. Go because what was done here still matters.
