Built in 1870 along Route 6A, this Swedenborgian Gothic church was designed by Boston architect Samuel Thayer and constructed by local builder John Hinckley. By the late twentieth century the congregation had dwindled and the building had fallen into extreme disrepair. In 1998, a group of concerned citizens formed the Yarmouth New Church Preservation Foundation — no religious affiliation, all volunteers — and bought it back. The interior still holds its gothic arches, original frescoes, and a tracker pipe organ by William Horatio Clarke.
