Wendell Gilley Museum

The museum in Southwest Harbor — not Bar Harbor, but close enough to matter — exists to honor a man named Wendell Gilley and the birds he carved from wood. The collection holds more than 200 of his carvings. The museum runs hands-on programs connecting visitors to art, nature, and the carving tradition he left behind.
