George B. Dorr Museum of Natural History (College of the Atlantic)

Every exhibit in the Dorr Museum — the dioramas, the marine tank with live sea animals, the displays of Maine's native plants and wildlife — was researched, designed, and built by College of the Atlantic students. That's not a promotional claim; it's the organizing principle. Named for George B. Dorr, the man credited as the father of Acadia National Park, the museum sits on the COA campus half a mile north of downtown Bar Harbor on Route 3.
