Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Museum

The only museum devoted exclusively to Wampanoag history occupies an old half Cape Cod house in Mashpee — the homeland of a people who have lived across southeastern Massachusetts for more than 12,000 years, were federally recognized as a tribe in 2007, and number approximately 3,200 enrolled citizens today. Inside, artifacts and heirlooms trace Wampanoag life from the Stone Age to the present. The museum runs seasonally; check current hours before you go.
