Good forFamilies
Deming Jarves founded a glass factory in Sandwich in 1825, and the town has been inseparable from glass ever since. The Boston & Sandwich Glass Company ran until 1888 — when a labor lockout and Midwestern competition ended it — and the museum that grew from the Sandwich Historical Society has been interpreting that history since 1925. Glassblowing demonstrations run hourly. The permanent collection covers nearly 5,000 pieces from the factory's years of operation.
