Pine Mountain Trail

Good forOutdoor lovers

Since 1975, volunteers have been cutting and maintaining a 23-mile footpath along the Pine Mountain ridge inside F.D. Roosevelt State Park in west central Georgia — about 80 miles southwest of Atlanta. Founded by D. Neal Wickham of Columbus, the trail runs from its western terminus on GA 190 near the park entrance to its eastern end near the WJSP-TV tower outside Warm Springs, crossing land that once belonged to FDR himself. He died two miles away at the Little White House in 1945. The trail his neighbors built outlasted him by decades.
