Good forHistory buffs
The Colonial Spanish Quarter opened here in 1963 as a living museum on a two-acre site owned by the University of Florida. It ran until 2011, when Pat Croce's Colonial Quarter LLC signed an agreement with the University to renovate and relaunch it. After a multimillion-dollar renovation, it reopened in March 2013 as the Colonial Quarter — covering the city's history from the 16th through 18th centuries, with a 35-foot watchtower replica, living history demonstrations, and an outdoor music venue that now hosts bands nightly.
