Tree of Life (Kalaloch)

The tree has no business still standing. A Sitka spruce — the largest spruce species on earth — suspended over an eroded bluff at Kalaloch Beach, its roots reaching into open air above a cave carved by a small stream. Most of its root system hangs exposed. The branches are still green. Nobody knows when it falls — could be tomorrow, could be decades. That uncertainty is the reason to go now.
